If my weekend weren't already booked, I'd be attending the Southern California Library's "People's History of Black Los Angeles" open house/panel discussion/exhibition on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 6120 S. Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles. Click for a flyer (pdf).
From their website: Opening a dialogue about the public's right of access to government information is the focus of Sunshine Sunday and Sunshine Week: Your Right to Know, which kick off March 13, 2005 and continue through the following week. Participants include newspapers, magazines, online sites, and radio and television broadcasters. The American Library Association is playing a part too (pdf).
